- Edible fruit palm that grows well in humid areas near springs or creeks.
- The fruits are used in a decoction as an antihelminthic and laxative. They are also used to treat snakebite.
- Pollinated mainly by stingless bees. PROPAGATION: Seed (pre soak for 24 hours in warm water and sow in containers). Germination takes 2 months or more. The seed has a limited viability and needs to be sown as fresh as possible.
