Now is the season when the mosquitos become more prolific and dengue is not one to take lightly. It is a vector born illness passed by mosquitos, particularly the species that is active during the day. Long lightweight clothing is the best repellant and making sure your screens are closed in the house.
Symptoms of Dengue
- Extreme intermittent fever
- Rash on the neck and chest
- Extreme pain behind the eyes
- Intense headache
⛳Red flags that require IMMEDIATE hospitalization
- Bloody nose or gums
- Bruising
- Extremely bloodshot eyes
There are certain strains of Dengue that are hemorrhagic and fatal.
Any child under 12 who contracts Dengue should go to the clinic immediately.
What to do if you get Dengue?
The most effective herbal protocol from my experience in treating this is:
- Hombre Grande
- Ginger
- Lemongrass
served 3oz very hot, every two hours. This formula is what we refer to at diaphoretic and helps release the fever without suppressing it. The Hombre Grande, Quassia amara contains active alkaloids to kill the pathogen and is currently in use in the production of pharmaceuticals that treat and kill Malaria, Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya.
It is extremely important to stay hydrated and in a mosquito net as you become a host for the pathogen that can be spread to others through mosquito bites.
There are no other preventive measures aside from keeping mosquitos outside of your house and wearing long lightweight clothing and whatever repellants work for you.
Important
Also important to pay attention to standing water , in buckets, wheel barrows, un old coconuts. Mosquitos do NOT breed in running water.
