Description
Baked Jackfruit Fiber Fries are a crunchy, delicious, and addictive snack made from the fibers of ripe jackfruit. It’s one of the best recipes for using parts of the fruit that are often discarded.
Instructions
- Clean the jackfruit fibers: Remove the tough part that was attached to the fruit and discard it.
- Cut the fibers into thin strips.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine the jackfruit fibers with rice flour, chili powder, and salt. Mix well and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Check texture: After 10 minutes, the jackfruit fibers will have released some moisture, helping the flour stick to them.
- Arrange on tray: Spread the fibers on the tray and bake for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Add oil: Drizzle the fibers with oil and mix well so they're evenly coated. (This step is optional but adds a nice crunch.)
- Bake again: Bake for an additional 5–10 minutes until golden and crispy. (Be careful not to overcook them—slightly browned edges will enhance flavor and texture.)
Notes
- Baking time may vary depending on how thick the strips are and your oven’s temperature.
- You can also fry the fibers instead of baking for a crispier texture.
