The Alegría Village Community is located in the hills of San Mateo, in Costa Rica. Spanning 70 hectares (170 acres) of fertile farmland, the village is designed to harmonize with nature, featuring food forests, edible gardens, and reforested wildlife corridors. We are an eco-village with permaculture values. Residents enjoy a blend of private and communal spaces, including a community center, yoga shala, coworking hub, pool, hot tub, and sacred areas for reflection. We have a vibrant community with daily activities. Our organic farm and syntropic food system, produce fresh baskets of food every Tuesday for every neighbor.
The community emphasizes sustainable living, with homes built using natural materials and access to clean water from on-site springs and creeks.
